Shyla's Story

Meet Shyla! *Multiple Visits*

Shyla is ready for her new fur-ever chance in life! Unfortunately, Shyla was brought in as a stray so we do not have information of her past. We estimate she is approximately 5 years old. Shyla is incredibly shy and is fearful of everything. She has adjusted to the shelter, but still has a long way to go. She is very under socialized and any small thing can spook her. Loud noises, strangers, new environments, fast movements, etc. We have yet to see her full personality, but she is slowly showing us affection, letting us take her outside and is learning how to be a dog. A quieter home environment would be for the best. She is not house trained. She would benefit from further obedience training, socialization and confidence-building. She seems to do well with other dogs. Another dog in the home will most likely help her improve in becoming accustoming to a home life. If you have another dog, a meet and greet is required. A fenced-in yard is recommended but consistent leash walks in the beginning of her journey would be for the best as she is a flight risk. She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
