Short's Story

Short is a bright and energetic girl who showed mostly positive responses during her assessment and appears friendly with people. She enjoys interaction, but when she becomes overly excited or frustrated, she can jump up strongly and may mouth hands with enough pressure to cause a scratch, which means she could be a bit overwhelming for small children or frail adults. She would benefit from continued guidance, including gentle desensitization to handling and restraint, as well as support in learning appropriate play manners. Short would do best with an adopter who is ready to provide structure, patience, and consistent training to help her channel her energy in positive ways. While she enjoys being around people, she was not comfortable around other dogs and would likely do best as the only pet in the home, and with the right match, she has the potential to become a loving and rewarding companion.
