Locals said he had been lingering there for a long time, thin and frail, until one day a car struck him. When we found him, he was limping, clearly in pain, and extremely underweight.<br/><br/>A veterinary exam and X-rays revealed that his injury was the result of an old fracture. Instead of forcing him through the trauma of breaking the bone again for a risky surgery with no guarantees, we chose comfort and quality of life for him.
