Shelton's Story

Shelton is a neutered male senior sable & white Sheltie. Our vet believes he is around 12 years old, and he currently weighs 23 lbs. Shelton is up to date on all of his vet care, and has recently had a dental cleaning. He is crate trained and seems to be house trained. Shelton came to us from a municipal shelter, and we don’t have any information on his history. He is a very sweet guy, and loves to follow you around asking for pets and treats. He gets along well with other calmer dogs, but doesn’t appreciate high energy or dogs that bother him. He hasn't been tested yet with cats or children, but we anticipate he would be fine with them. Shelton has quite a bit of arthritis and is blind in his left eye. He does take some inexpensive maintenance medications and supplements for his arthritis. He is also in early kidney failure and eats a prescription food to help with this. Shelton is looking for a loving retirement home. A securely fenced yard is required for his adoptive home. If you're interested in meeting or adopting Shelton, the first step would be filling out an adoption application via our website scsheltierescue.com. His adoption donation is $250. NOVEMBER 2025
