Sheldon's Story

Say hello to Sheldon, a 3 yr old, 27 pound beagle! Sheldon is an absolute cuddle bug and loves to play! Whether it's running around in the yard, playing fetch in the house, or cuddling on the couch for some TV time, he is happy to interact. He loves every dog, cat and person he meets. He is working hard on his potty training, and is looking for someone that can help keep him on a schedule so he continues to be successful! He is also doing well with being in a crate, and will only whine if he's extremely bored or has to potty.

Sheldon is very much a typical beagle, and is looking for someone who has hound/beagle experience and a fenced yard. Sheldon does have a loud bark, and is not afraid to use it when he sees people outside (or right before a poop!). Luckily, that bark hasn't seemed to translate inside the house, and he is a perfect quiet gentleman, even when playing. Sheldon has also been struggling with walks because he wants to meet everybody he sees! His foster has been working with him on this, and he has made leaps and bounds, but will need some help continuing his training or to go to a home in a bit more rural of an area.

Sheldon is currently being fostered in the Portage, WI area. Think you may have room in your heart for this sweet boy? Please reach out to wi.hah@naiaonline.org or submit an application today!

Homes for Animal Heroes is a program of the National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA) that is dedicated to rehoming retired research dogs and sharing the facts about the critical role animals in research play in curing disease.
