Shelby German Shepherd Dog Los Angeles, CA

Hi. My name is Shelby and I am an 11 month old female German Shepherd. I was dumped in the desert by an uncaring owner. He dumped me and some of my brothers and sisters in the harsh Coachella area desert. We all looked at each other like "what are we supposed to do now?"

We all went our separate ways and started looking for food and a place to sleep.
I don't know what became of my brothers and sisters. There are lots of coyotes out here and I think many of them died.

I made it out though and to the doorstep of this nice lady who took me in and fed me and gave me a safe place to sleep while she tried to find me a decent owner.
I was there a couple of weeks. She posted my pictures on Next Door and looked for someone willing to take me. The Puppy Coalition dog rescue people took me into boarding and have been looking for a great home for me but no one very good has come forward so I am sitting her with my paws crossed hoping someone will come through the door and decide I am the greatest dog they ever saw.

Here's a little about me. They say I am the sweetest girl ever. I love to give kisses. I am very sweet and love to get cozy and toasty with "my person".

I have had all my vaccinations and am healthy and when an adoption happens I will go for my spay surgery. I can be in a home with other animals but I like to play a lot when I am happy and most of the time I am happy.

My volunteers said that if I put up this ad on the whole world wide web, that just maybe, the person who was supposed to find me, would find my little ad. Is that you? VOLUNTEER'S NOTES: Shelby's ideal home would be a single person, best a woman, who wants a companion dog and has experience with puppies and dogs. Also someone who was home most of the time.

When you show her love, she returns it tenfold. She deserves time and love and has so much love to give, it is amazing. I have rescued hundreds of dogs in 12 years and she is probably the sweetest dog of them all. She is a treasure. She will be the best companion you ever had.
