Sheba 's Story

Meet Sheba!

Meet this gorgeous girl, Sheba! She is approximately 6.5–7 months old and currently weighs 35–40 pounds. We do not expect her to get much bigger and anticipate she will likely stay under 60 pounds when fully grown. While we cannot confirm her breed without a DNA test, her medical record lists her as a Shepherd x Husky mix — a unique combination that gives her both intelligence and striking good looks.

Sheba was found wandering alone, and after being picked up by animal control, no one ever came to claim her. She has been waiting patiently at the shelter since February and would love nothing more than a forever home of her own. As a young dog, she will benefit from a patient and dedicated family who is committed to continuing her training and providing consistent guidance so she can grow into the amazing companion we know she can be.

Like most adolescent dogs, Sheba has a playful spirit and plenty of joyful energy. She is eager to learn and would thrive with a family committed to continuing her obedience training, socialization, and daily structure. She absolutely loves other dogs and would likely do wonderfully in a home with a canine companion to play with and learn from. She has not been formally tested with cats, but slow and thoughtful introductions could certainly be considered. She has had limited exposure to children, so a home with older, respectful kids who understand the energy of a young dog would likely be the best fit.

Sheba will flourish in a home that provides both mental and physical stimulation. A home with a yard — ideally fenced — would be wonderful so she can safely explore and stretch her legs. While an apartment would not be her ideal setup, we are open to considering it on a case-by-case basis if her exercise and enrichment needs can consistently be met. Given her possible breed mix, she would likely do best with an active family who can keep up with her energy and curiosity.

The shelter where Sheba is currently staying is severely overcrowded, and dogs like her are at risk simply due to lack of space. She deserves the chance to leave the shelter behind and start the next chapter of her life with a family who will love and support her.

Health:
Sheba is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on monthly prevention. She is healthy, happy, and ready to begin her new adventure.

Information:
All of our dogs, including Sheba, are currently located in Texas and will be transported to adopters once the adoption is finalized. Transportation is included in the adoption fee. Breed labels are educated guesses based on appearance and shelter records — we encourage adopters to focus on personality, needs, and long-term compatibility rather than breed alone.

MA License #479
