We are not a shelter, but a foster home-based rescue, and these animals are all housed individually with foster families.<br/><br/>Please review our application carefully and ensure everyone in the family is ready for the lifelong responsibility and commitment of a canine companion.<br/><br/>PLEASE NOTE: Shayla will only be adopted out within 30 miles of the Rochester, NY area<br/><br/>Shayla is a sweetheart who came to us from Kentucky with her two brothers after being found abandoned in a home with their dad. She may be a little shy when meeting new people but give her a little time and you’ll see her true personality shine. Once she feels safe, Shayla is incredibly loving and affectionate. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and would love a canine buddy to play with. <br/><br/>Shayla is housebroken and settles nicely into her crate at night when her humans are close by. It may take her a few minutes to get comfortable, but once she knows she’s safe, she relaxes and sleeps peacefully through the night.<br/><br/>Shayla has a tender heart and forms deep bonds with her people. Because she loves so fully, she can feel anxious when left alone and doesn’t do well being crated without her family nearby. She simply feels most secure knowing her people are close. Shayla would thrive in a home with older children who can respect her space.<br/><br/>With patience, understanding, and a gentle, consistent routine, Shayla will continue to grow in confidence. She is a loving, devoted girl who just wants to feel safe, cherished, and part of a family — and in return, she will give her whole heart.
