Shayla's Story

Meet Shyla!

Shyla is a 2-year-old Border Collie mix, weighing about 35 lbs, and she is the definition of a sweet, gentle soul. Her name fits her perfectly because this girl is a little shy and timid when it comes to people.

Shyla came from a dog lot where dogs were dumped and essentially grew up without much human supervision. Because of that, she missed out on some of those everyday life lessons that most dogs learn growing up. Shes not broken—she just needs someone willing to show her that the world is a pretty wonderful place.

One thing Shyla is VERY confident about? Other dogs! She absolutely loves canine companionship and would really benefit from a home with at least one confident, friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and give her a little boost of courage.

She is already house trained and crate trained, which is a fantastic start! Shell need a patient family who understands that confidence doesnt happen overnight and is willing to let her blossom at her own pace.

Shyla at a glance:
2 years old
35 lbs
Border Collie mix
Very sweet & gentle
Timid with people
LOVES other dogs
Needs a confident dog sibling
House trained
Crate trained
No small children
Cat compatibility unknown
Needs confidence-building and some basic life lessons

Shyla is looking for someone who will be her safe place while she learns how amazing life can be.
