Sharon Stone's Story

Sharon Stone A181459
65 lb. spayed female, approx 1 1/2 years old

Meet this affectionate girl who just wants a job and a home

-She walks nicely on leash with very minimal pulling and does great seeing other dogs at a distance -- curious but calm and non-reactive. Outside, she's engaged and observant. Inside the shelter, though, you can tell she's feeling the stress of the environment.

-She is incredibly people-loving and immediately wanted to be as close as possible. When I sat on the floor, she happily barreled right into me for pets, kisses, and affection. She's slightly energetic, has very little concept of personal space 😂, and just wants to be with her person.

-She knows how to sit, wasn't very food-motivated, and wasn't interested in toys during our time together -- which honestly just reinforces that the shelter isn't where she thrives. She's a working-type dog who needs purpose, structure, and meaningful engagement, not a noisy kennel.

-This sweet, kiss-giving girl would shine in a home that can give her guidance, activity, and love. She's not asking for much -- just someone who sees her potential and is ready to help her become the dog she's meant to be.

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30

**1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
