Sharlee's Story

We appreciate your interest in this precious girl-but when responding please use our application at sparrowdogs.com, or tell us a bit about yourself such as home, yard/fence, family, other pets, and work hours.

My goodness....she just so happens to be one of the most beautiful and elegant dogs that has ever graced us with her presence in all of our 20+ years of rescue. There is something very special about Sharlee, you can see it in her eyes, she is a gentle soul, and so very loving. But--then again she is a puppy and is fully embracing her silly side!! Sharlee LOVES to play, she is learning all about toys and having fun and getting the zoomies. She had a rough start in life, but at 6 months old she is ready to put all of that behind her.

We are guessing Sharlee is a lab mix, she looks to have some hound, but she is only 22 (thin) pounds so perhaps she is part beagle?? She has a little bit of growth in her and needs to fill out, but she will be on the smaller side of medium. Just the perfect size for a family that may have smaller children that would love a gentle playmate and best bud that won't tip them over!! Sharlee is very smart and learns quickly. She is doing wonderfully with her house training in a very short time.

She LOVES being outside and is fascinated with the hose, so maybe she will love the water when the weather warms up again? Her bast pals in her foster home are two 3 pound siblings, a couple of chihuahua mixed pups that she plays with-that is how gentle she is, they just love their big 'sis'. ( and no, she is not their Mama) Sharlee will do well with a loving and active family. She has lived with cats and is terrific with people and other dogs. She may be a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She will surely be someone's heart dog, she is very special. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com. Her adoption fee is $400.

Eye on the Sparrow's Adoption Policy
We try to make adopting a dog or cat a pleasant and fairly easy experience but also try to make the best possible fit for each dog or cat and the people involved. After being contacted by an individual we will respond with an email and attach an application as well. We will follow up with any questions or concerns and will do a phone consult as well. Remember all or our dogs are at volunteer foster homes and we do our best to get back to any inquiries as soon as is possible. Adoption fees help defer many of expenses such as medical care or other costs incurred by the dogs and are usually around $250, although some of the dogs can be adopted for less due to sponsors, special needs and senior programs, and some of the more "sought" after breeds and puppies generally have a higher adoption fee to help (pays for the extra surgeries, meds..so we can take special needs dogs).
