Sharla's Story

Hi, I’m Sharla,

I’m a very gentle, shy girl with the softest puppy eyes. The world still feels big to me, so I take things slowly and retreat to my crate when I need comfort. With patience and kindness, I’m learning that humans can be safe—and I’m already showing how much love I have to give.

When I trust you, I’ll quietly seek you out. If you sit calmly on my bed, I’ll inch closer for pets, nudge you to keep going, and sometimes lie down beside you. It’s clear I want affection—I’m just learning how to ask for it.

I’m calm, quiet, and incredibly polite in the home. I sleep peacefully in my crate with the door open, remain relaxed when left alone, and show no destructive or concerning behaviors. I’m house-trained and will let you know when I need to go outside, even though stairs and new movements can still feel intimidating.

I’ve been doing very well with other dogs, enjoying calm, close interactions and relaxing near them. I’m not quite ready for busy walks or adoption events, but I’ve started to show little glimpses of playfulness—including a tiny zoomie.

My ideal home is quiet and patient, with people who understand that trust takes time. A fenced yard would be wonderful, and I’d be just fine while you’re at work—I’ll happily nap and wait for you. With the right family, I know I’ll continue to blossom into a loving, devoted companion.

Sharla was born approximately November 2022 and is a medium-sized dog.

Her adoption fee is $475.
