Sharky's Story

Hey, I’m Sharky. Don’t let the name fool you; I’m more sweet pup than sea predator. I’m a 1-year-old, 40-pound mix with the most soulful eyes, a soft heart, and a goofy charm that sneaks up on you. I’m neutered, healthy, and vaccinated, Basically, I’m all set and just waiting for my person.

I’m house-trained and crate-trained (kinda. I’m still working through some crate anxiety, but I do much better with a buddy nearby or if I can see you). I’ll happily walk into the crate for a soft bed and a yummy treat. I’m not destructive in the house. I’ve just got a medium energy level and a love for chew toys, benebones, and a good wrestling match with my dog friends.

I’m a little shy with new people, especially men, but I warm up gently and love quietly. I recently discovered cuddling and snuggles are actually the best, and now I lean in for affection more and more. I haven’t been around kids or cats yet, so we’d need to take that slow, but I’m great with other dogs and love having a buddy to play with or just hang out nearby.

I walk okay on a leash, though I’m still building my confidence out there. Car rides? I’ll try to jump into the front seat, but buckle me in and I’ll be chill. As for food… I’ve been a bit picky, but I’m eating well now, especially if you throw in an egg or a sprinkle of cheese. And sometimes, I just need to go potty before my meals to make space for the new ones. I’ve come a long way since I was underweight, and I’m filling out into a healthy, handsome boy.

One last thing: I will try to sneak a shoe if it’s left out. So unless it squeaks or smells like bacon, maybe just keep those tucked away. If you’re looking for a soft, playful, loyal pup who’s still discovering all the good things in life—and just needs someone patient and kind to help him grow into his best self—I’m your Sharky. Let’s start our next chapter together.

**Apply to adopt Sharky on our website: www.strongpawsrescue.org**
