SHANNY - ARRIVES IN MAINE JANUARY 24TH's Story
Caleb’s Opus is overjoyed to welcome SHANNY to our family!

Sometimes the hardest stories are the ones wrapped in half-truths.

SHANNY was brought to our Southern partner by someone from a nearby community who claimed she had “found” the puppies. But the details didn’t add up—and they rarely do. These babies weren’t lost. They weren’t abandoned by chance. They were hers. And when she couldn’t find homes for them, she brought them to a shelter.
When asked about the collars they were wearing, she said she had put them on after finding them. They were frayed litter collars—chewed nearly all the way around, tightened as the puppies grew, the kind that only come from weeks of siblings gnawing on each other. Too tight. Too familiar. Too telling.

SHANNY didn’t choose any of this.

She didn’t choose to be born into a situation where responsibility ran out before compassion. She didn’t choose the collars, the story, or the uncertainty. What she does get to choose now is her future—and that future starts with us.

At just 10 weeks old, SHANNY is still a baby. Soft, hopeful, and completely unaware of how close she came to slipping through the cracks. She deserves warmth, safety, and a family who will never need to make excuses for her existence.

SHANNY arrives on 1/24, and we cannot wait to show her what love looks like when it’s done right.

Could you be SHANNY’S Family?
