His foster family says he is playful, funny, curious, and affectionate. He has a lot of energy and loves running and exploring in the large fenced yard. Even though he's quite interested in the birds, squirrels and deer that he sees, he has yet to run after them. He returns to his family promptly when he is called.<br/><br/>Shadow is a smart little guy and is highly responsive to voice commands including come, sit, lie down, let's go, and wait/stay. He's working on learning to heel when on a leash. (There's just so much to see and sniff.) His new family will need to continue working with him.<br/><br/>He feels safe and secure in his crate where he sleeps at night without any objections.<br/><br/>He would do best in a home where someone in his family is home much of the time, working from home or working a reduced schedule.<br/><br/>This friendly puppy enjoys the company of both men and women but is very fearful of children and adolescents. His foster family reports that he trembles and growls while seeking the safety of his foster family when children approach.<br/><br/>Shadow enjoys cats and dogs his own size and age, but not large dogs. His energy level makes him a good companion with another younger to middle-aged dog who will enjoy playing with him.<br/><br/>Shadow will be a great addition to the family fortunate enough to adopt him.<br/><br/>Shadow is being fostered in West Virginia<br/><br/>-<br/><br/>If interested, fill out an adoption application.
