Shadow's Story
A058981 Shadow, neutered male Alaskan Husky, approx. 2 years, 45 pounds
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
📱 (209)754-6509
🌐 Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
📧 Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

Shadow is a lovely example of a handsome Husky with beautiful David Bowie eyes. Having different-colored eyes is technically called "heterochromia" and is not uncommon in Huskies and some other breeds. But we think Shadow's eyes are fit for a rock star!

At 45 pounds, Shadow is a nice, compact size for a Husky, easy to play with and snuggle with. He's basically reached his full-grown size.

Shadow is a fun-loving, playful boy, both with people and other dogs he has met. His affectionate nature and nice leash manner will, with additional training and some outgrowing of natural youthful exuberance, make him a pleasant walking companion. He's working on leash etiquette and we have found him willing to learn, which is great in a Husky. He enjoys having his beautiful coat brushed, and loves playing in the water.

We've noticed that Shadow is a bit *too* interested in the shelter cats, so a cat-free household is probably best for him.

Cats notwithstanding, Shadow walks around with a big goofy grin on his face and wants to make friends with everyone.

He loves all dogs he's met and has had no issues with meeting new people. His joyful attitude will help make him a fun new addition to his new family.

Shadow keeps his inner kennel tidy. Though we can't make guarantees, he may be easy to house train.

Shadow is neutered and can go home with you right away. A meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
