Shadow

Shadow was found by a kind person and brought to our shelter after they couldn't find her owners. She spent about 3 weeks with her finder, and he says that she is extremely sweet and loves cuddles! He says she did wonderful with his dogs and cats! She also loves her new kennel neighbor (Blue) and he loves her back! So far, Shadow is very scared. She is scared of the loud noises, and is nervous of us, but she is already starting to open up! Her finder also said that he called her Shadow because she followed him wherever he went! Shadow is bound to make someone VERY happy! She will be your best friend forever! She walks well on a leash and is potty trained! We guess she is around 6-8 months old, so she will likely not be very big, probably only around 40 pounds!<br/><br/>Update 1/5/23: Shadow is doing wonderful! She has learned that people are not all that scary and she has put a lot of trust in a couple of our employees! We think she would do exceptionally well in a home with another, more confident, dog. Despite her fears, she absolutely loves being with her person! She LOVES going for walks and loves getting her belly rubbed! She may take a day or two to open up to people, but once she trusts you, she really shows it with how much she loves! Shadow has already left her mark on us here at the shelter and we are so excited to see how she continues to grow with us and, hopefully soon, with her new forever family!<br/><br/>Update 5/21/24: Shadow has unfortunately been diagnosed with Heartworm. We are actively treating symptoms and will soon begin treatment with injections. However, she is doing GREAT with meeting new people! She is still shy at first, but is warming up quicker! She LOVES cuddling on the bench outside!<br/><br/>Every dog adopted from Green Hills Animal Shelter is fixed, wormed, has age-appropriate vaccinations, and is tested for heartworm (if old enough). Dogs from GHAS will also come with a starter bag of Hills Science Diet dog/puppy food to get you started!
