She's an approximately 4 year old Chihuahua / Terrier Mix (We do not DNA test) She is completely housebroken and knows basic commands. She gets along well with cats. Her foster home has three cats. She LOVES to go for walks and she walks well on a leash. If you like a good snuggle, Serene is your girl. An absolute cuddle bug, she’ll want to sleep right next to you if you’ll allow her to. We hope that Serene will find a furever home where she will be loved, pampered and spoiled because she truly deserves the best. Serene is heartworm positive and will receive treatment at the rescues expense at one of our contracted vets. Applicants should be within a 50 mile radius of our Elgin location and willing and able to take her for the treatment. Potential adopters will speak with a member of our medical team prior to adoption to fully understand the treatment process Serene’s adoption fee is $350. This includes age appropriate vaccines, completed wellness visit, *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Congratulations on deciding to rescue an animal in need. Everything we do for these animals is based on helping them find a great forever home and we are excited for the lucky animal that you will welcome into your home. Requirements for Adoption *You must be over 21 to adopt *You must fill out either a Cat Adoption Application or a Dog Adoption Application *All resident animals must be up to date on shots and have been altered (or a vet letter as to why they are not altered). *All members of the household must be in agreement to adopt an animal. *All members of the household are required to be at the meet and greet prior to final adoption. *You are required to have your animal spayed or neutered per IL state Law. Failure to do so will result in the relinquishment of your animal back to HWMAR. ** ** PER IL STATE LAW (225 ILCS 605/3.3), you are REQUIRED to have your animal spayed or neutered within 14 days of being deemed healthy by a licensed veterinarian. This is Non-Negotiable.
