I’m also a professional snuggler, certified treat enthusiast, and unofficial queen of the play yard. <br/><br/>I’m just a year old and weigh about 47 lbs, which is basically the perfect size for fitting on your lap (trust me, I’ve done the math). I LOVE belly rubs, ear scratches, and being told I’m a good girl—which I am, by the way. A very good girl.<br/><br/>I like to be the fun boss during playtime when other dogs are involved , think cool camp counselor vibes with a side of zoomies. And I do want to meet any potential doggy siblings before signing on.<br/><br/>My dream day? You, me, a cozy couch, maybe a walk (but only if there’s time for post-walk snacks), and a long nap with my head on your lap. I promise to love you so much, your heart might grow three sizes.<br/><br/>So… what do you say? Wanna be my human?"<br/><br/><br/>Sadly, SELKIE tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get her into a home during her treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about her heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering her (we’d love to find her a foster home!). Once her treatment plan is completed, Selkie will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!<br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives? Consider fostering by filling out our foster application at https://www.kckpd.org/Animal-Services/Foster-a-Pet. All supplies are provided.
