Seadog's Story

Seadog is a calm, gentle, approximately 5-year-old lab mix who is wonderfully well-mannered in the house. He’s quiet, rarely barks, and has excellent “house sense,” naturally knowing the difference between toys and things that aren’t his. He especially loves soft, crinkly toys and doesn’t destroy them—he’s more of a comfort-sucker than a chewer!

He does great living loose in the house, prefers being near his people, and happily follows you from room to room. He loves snuggling on the bed and is very affectionate without being pushy. He’s also surprisingly intuitive and responsive; even though he doesn’t fully know his name yet, he quickly understands direction and cues and is eager to please. He rides out crate time if needed, but he’s definitely happiest when not crated.

Seadog enjoys playing politely with the resident dog and would do well with another friendly dog, but he’d also be happy soaking up love as an only dog as long as he has company. He is living peacefully with a cat as well! Seadog loves spending time outdoors and would really thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can relax and explore.

The main thing to know: Seadog struggles with being left completely alone and can get destructive if he feels abandoned. He doesn’t like being without people in view, so he’ll need a home where someone is home most of the time or can take him along for adventures. With companionship, he is an absolute dream dog.

Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue! All pets are living in foster homes, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting, or for more information, please visit our website: https://otatwtx.org/how-to-adopt
