Scuba Steve's Story

Hi! My name is Steve and I'm a hot little mess. I am a super smart, extra silly, incredibly loving and loyal dog who can't wait to find my forever home. BUT, I'm kind of a quirky guy, so it's really important that I find the right home.

Most importantly, I can't go to a home with kids. They freak me out with their loud noises and sudden movements and don't even get me started on their little tiktok dances. And sometimes they have wheels for feet???? Not in my house.

Honestly, wheels in general are a bit of a no-go for me. Why are you riding a bike if you don't want me to chase you? Make it make sense. Also, I won't hesitate for a single second to crash your car if a motorcycle zooms by us while we're out on a drive- they have no business doing that and my opinions on this matter will not change. I wear my safety seatbelt in the car which will go with me to my forever home.

Lets talk about Men for a sec. Or we could never talk about them ever. Up to you. It isn't so much that I hate men. I just really, really have a lot of love and respect for women. And also maybe I hate men. Its the audacity for me... Honey, put that away and call a therapist. HOWEVER... If they have cheese, kind eyes, a whimsical demeanor and do their fair share of domestic labor without having to be asked or expecting to be praised, I am willing to reconsider on an individual basis. I do love my foster uncles and am capable of having loving relationships with men, but my standards are pretty high and it might take me a while to warm up. As for strangers on the street, you already know I choose the bear.

When it comes to other dogs, I have a complex array of thoughts.
*Are they on the other side of a fence? Not for me.
*Are they really fast at zoomies? Bestie material.
*Are they literally just existing anywhere near my house? Str8 to jail.
*Are they taking their person for a walk at the same time that I am taking my person for a walk? Stop copying me I h8 you
*Are they sweet and silly? Were they introduced to me in a safe, neutral environment? Are high value toys, treats and food not accessible? Cool. Lets be besties for forever

Some people might say that I'm being waaayyy too picky for a shelter dog, but I won't apologize for being Steve. It's just who I am. My foster mom and I have been working really hard on training and she says I am a really smart guy. I practice wearing my muzzle when we go out, just to make 100% sure that we are being extra safe. My muzzle and harness will go with me when I get adopted.

If you are looking for a silly, outgoing, adventure loving best friend, give me a chance. My foster mom is happy to answer any questions that you might have about me and I would love to meet you!
