SPECIAL ADOPTION REQUEST – MEET SCRUFFY! <br/> Scruffy is only 1 year old, terrier mix, about 25 pounds, and he needs a very special kind of home! <br/>Scruffy was found as a stray and turned over to two amazing ladies who have been helping him. Somewhere in his short little life, Scruffy developed a HUGE fear of women. We don't know what happened to him, and we may never know.<br/>But here's what we DO know: Scruffy deserves a chance! <br/> Here's what we're looking for:<br/> MALE-ONLY HOME<br/> NO CHILDREN<br/> Other dogs are okay!<br/> Someone experienced with fearful dogs OR willing to follow a strict protocol to help him build trust.<br/> A patient, calm, understanding home that will let Scruffy move at HIS pace.<br/>PLEASE UNDERSTAND: Scruffy has NEVER shown aggression. He is simply scared. There is a BIG difference between a fearful dog and an aggressive dog.<br/>We are NOT looking for someone who wants to rush him, force affection, or expect him to be a normal, happy-go-lucky puppy overnight.<br/>We need someone who understands that trust is earned, not forced.<br/>Scruffy is just a baby. At 6 months old, he has his whole life ahead of him. With the right person, patience, consistency, and love, we hope he can learn that the world isn't such a scary place. <br/>Sometimes the dogs who need the most patience become the most rewarding companions.
