SCRAPPY POO's Story
Scrappy Doo's Doggie Day Out 2/28/26: Scrappy Doo interacted with our 14 year old and remained calm the entire time. He also remained calm as other teenagers stopped to pet him. He was walked by many young children at the park and showed no signs of aggression or worry. Scrappy Doo is super mellow, friendly, easygoing, curious, and affectionate. He walks well on a leash, though likes to take a lot of breaks to sniff, rest, and to watch other dogs and people. He’s very docile, and at times when he noticed other dogs being walked on a leash that were approaching from the opposite direction, he would lie belly down on the ground and stay in that position calmly watching the dogs until they passed. He didn’t bark or show any aggression towards others on a 6 mile walk throughout various busy parks. He was great with our teenager and welcomed strangers coming over to greet and pet him. He also traveled well in the car, and even fell asleep in the car! He seems like a loving dog that would respond well to correction (if needed) and training. No behaviors of concern. In the Front Street Animal Shelter parking lot, while Scrappy Doo was on a leash and was being returned to the shelter volunteer, a dog escaped from a car in the parking lot and aggressively came at Scrappy Doo, and Scrappy Doo remained calm. We walked several miles at a very busy park with lots of young kids, people, various sports being played, music being played, protesters gathered, and lots of cars driving around. So he was around a lot of stimulation but remained calm and didn't seem phased, just curious and taking it all in.
