SCRAPPY DOO $425's Story
Meet Scrappy Doo

At just 4 months old, Scrappy Doo may have been the runt of her litter — but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in personality and heart.

This little Lab mix is equal parts spunky and sweet. She has a silly, slightly “off-beat” charm that makes you smile without even trying. There’s just something about her — a little wobble, a little quirk, and a whole lot of love.

Scrappy had a rough start, and it’s possible she experienced some oxygen deprivation early on. Because of that, she may have mild neurological differences. What does that mean? It means she might move a little differently, learn at her own pace, or always have that adorably unique spark that makes her her.

She has also been evaluated for possible hip concerns. At her young age, it’s simply too early to make any definitive diagnosis, but future adopters should be aware that she could potentially have orthopedic needs down the road. Right now, she’s a playful puppy who enjoys exploring, romping, and being part of the action — just in her own special way.

Scrappy will do best with a patient, loving family who sees her differences not as limitations, but as part of her story. She doesn’t need perfection — she needs commitment, understanding, and someone who believes that special dogs make the very best companions.

The beautiful part?
Half of Scrappy’s adoption fee has been generously sponsored to help her find the perfect home.

If you’ve ever had a soft spot for the underdog…
If you believe the “runt” deserves the biggest chance…
If you understand that sometimes the slightly quirky ones love the hardest…

Scrappy Doo is waiting.

And we have a feeling her very best chapter is still ahead.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
