Scrappy's Story

9-year-old Scrappy and his brother Oreo were surrendered to Harbor Shelter in San Pedro for unknown reasons. Shelter staff noted:

"Oreo and Scrappy are really sweet, nice dogs.

Scrappy walks well on leash while Oreo prefers to be carried to the yard. Both dogs are curious and enjoy exploring. Oreo is agile and the more adventurous of the two. Scrappy is affectionate and will likely curl up in your lap. They adore each other and trot along side by side."

Scrappy and Oreo went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about them in a home setting. Here's what we learned:

Scrappy and Oreo enjoy sitting on laps, sunbathing, going for short walks, and playing. They know "come", "crate", and "leave it". The boys adorably dance when they are about to get food or are excited. When home alone, they settle in their crates and relax.

Scrappy and Oreo get along well with other dogs and cats, but they may try a bit of owner guarding if they are on your lap. This behavior was easily corrected by putting them down on the ground when it occurred.

Scrappy and Oreo enjoyed tagging along on car rides to run errands. For the boys' safety, their fling mom secured them with seat belts. In between short walks, car rides, time outside, and snuggles, Oreo and Scrappy took lots of naps.

Scrappy and Oreo are back on-site and looking for a loving home together. They promise to give their new family lots of love and devoted companionship in return!

To meet Scrappy and Oreo, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
