Scrappy's Story

Scrappy came to us pretty unsocialized, and it took us quite awhile to befriend him and prove to him that not all humans are bad!
He is still very fearful of a lot of things. He loves female dogs, but is generally not a fan of other males. He would do best in a home with a female dog to show him the ropes, as having a buddy gives him confidence. He LOVES to play and roll in the snow and is guaranteed to make his family laugh. He will need patience and time with a new owner - but we promise that he is worth it! Once he is your friend, he will love you forever. With shelter staff, he loves to play and give kisses and respectfully cuddle. He has learned "sit" and "shake" and will be easy to train.
He will require a fenced yard. He walks well on a leash with a harness. Getting the harness on can be tricky, he can by shy and run away at first, but once you are a "safe" person this should not be an issue. He loves treats. We know he will make someone a great dog, and a great best friend for any current female dog in the home. He would do best in a quiet, patient home with no children.
Please call us with questions or to meet him 231-533-6421
