Scout's Story

Meet the incredible Scout! This sweet soul was discovered at a common dumping ground, just trying to survive and find scraps of food in a world that didn’t treat him kindly. Luckily, one of our loving fosters swooped in to rescue him and provide him the safety he desperately needs.

Scout is about 30 pounds of pure heart and is estimated to be around 6-7 years old 🥰. Poor Scout has faced some tough circumstances, as he tested positive for heartworms. The good news is that we've started him on Doxycycline and Heartgard! 🎉 Let’s keep our fingers crossed that by he’ll be heartworm negative very soon (usually takes a year in most cases).

He is as sweet as pie, but Scout can be a little anxious/shy at first. He just needs a little time to trust and realize he's safe now! We’re committed to helping him feel secure and loved. Remember, this fella will require a fenced yard because hounds like him are notorious for following their noses into mischief! 🐕

Scout has a best buddy named Tango! If Tango gets adopted first and you're looking to have an automatic best buddy for Scout, he’ll have an adoption fee waived. How fantastic is that?! 🤩 The regular adoption fee is $100, which helps cover some of the costs like his neutering, vaccinations, microchip, flea prevention, and all the other goodies he enjoyed while with us. However, it’s crucial that he stays on heartworm prevention for life 🛡️.

To adopt Scout, it’s essential to apply through our website www.fureverfurkids.com 🐾 And remember, we do home checks (either in person or virtually) to ensure every pet goes to the safest of homes! If you’re serious about adding this adorable hound to your family, that application needs to be completed before meeting him. Once a pet is adopted, they must come back to us if life circumstances change, so please be sure you're ready for a lifelong commitment! ❤️

Thank you for considering Scout and his friends who are all in urgent need of loving homes.

We are primarily a dog rescue. We are not able to take in cats (unless you can foster the cat) until a home can be found. To contact us, please email us at fureverfurkids@gmail.com. If interested in adopting, please read the pets’ full listing and if they sound like a good fit, fill out the application on our website www.fureverfurkids.com **If there is an error message, try again later. Sometimes I’m looking at applications and it makes the website unavailable for some reason.** The application is the 1st step. If the application is approved, we will check with your veterinarian for a reference. Finally, we will meet at your home (if local) for a home check. If not local, we ask for videos/pictures of your home, then we will let you know at the "meet and greet" if you are approved to officially adopt!
