Scout

Scout is a very sweet and well rounded Border Doodle. Don't let his summer cut fool you, he has very wavy and curly hair when it is longer and you could certainly put it in a teddy bear or other doodle cut should you prefer as it grows out. When he came to the rescue, someone had completed a DIY grooming and he had some fleas and ticks so we elected to have a "do over" and start from scratch. The vet believes Scout is somewhere between 3 and 3.5 years of age. He is past the chewing and destructive phase and has been a complete gentleman in his foster home. He appears to be housebroken, knows some tricks and loves to play fetch but is not annoying about it and he is willing to stop whenever you are tired of throwing. He does walk well on a leash but sometimes goes in circles and wants to take time to sniff every blade of grass so you have to get him back on track. He does like to go on car rides, walks and was very good at the groomers after he got over the initial fear of being placed on the table. He had some dry skin so he has been moved to a salmon and sweet potato based food to help with that. He is a good eater and is more than willing to beg, but will stop with a gentle "no". He is definitely like having a black and white shadow as he follows you every where within the house. He does like femur bones and balls as well as buoys. We haven't tried him in water yet but he certainly was not phased by the bath. If you are a looking for a loving, doting companion pet and are OK with a 70# dog, Scout may be the guy for you.
