Scout's Story

Scout and her 6 siblings were rescued on January 4 of this year when a brave soul crawled up under an abandoned house and brought the tiny two-week old babies to safety. Once in the home of the rescuer, these pups have been well cared for along with their Mother, Raina, who has been adopted.

Raina was a yellow lab mix who was extremely docile and well behaved. Raina weighed about 40 pounds. We do not know who daddy was but possibly a black lab as most of the pups are black and white, however, we do have one who is brindle and another one who has a brindle face and legs. :) Whatever the mix, they are very nice-looking kids!

Scout is a little bit shy and we are giving her extra attention to help her get a bit more relaxed around strangers. It is sort of understandable though, as with so many siblings, someone has to be the shy one!

Scout currently weighs just under 40 pounds and she's a little plump, always good for puppies, but once she grows into her weight and becomes an adult, we believe she will reach the weight of 50 pounds. Her coat is slick and shiny with beautiful markings ... it looks as though she is wearing a well-fitting tuxedo! This girl has had all of her puppy shots, is on heartworm, flea and tick preventative and has been wormed. She is scheduled to be spayed, microchipped and get her rabies shot in a few days.

If you would like to meet or adopt Scout, please start with our Adoption Application.
