Scout's Story
Meet Scout!

Scout's story starts with heartbreak-he was abandoned at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area with another dog-but you'd never guess it from his sunny personality. Despite being dumped, Scout is a happy, playful boy who's ready to leave the past behind and start his next chapter with a loving family.

Scout can take a little extra time to warm up to new people and environments, but once he feels safe, his true personality shines through. He becomes a playful, affectionate companion who loves attention and connection. He's very intelligent and already knows some tricks, and he's eager to keep learning. Scout is still working on leash training and is doing well with potty training-though a little regression after adoption is completely normal as he adjusts to a new home.

This sweet boy would do great in a home with kids, cats, and other dogs, especially those that are not dominant. Scout enjoys car rides, enthusiastically squeaking his squeaker balls until they're completely "dead," and soaking up all the belly rubs he can get.

Scout is looking for a patient, loving home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to fully blossom. In return, he'll give you loyalty, laughs, and a whole lot of love.
