Scotty - COURTESY POST's Story

***RPSM DOES NOT HAVE THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT BARB AT (269-425-9310)***

Hi! My name is Scotty and I am a very sweet and handsome boy looking for my forever home. I am a Poodle mix and currently weigh about 50 lbs. The vet says I am between 2-3 years old. I have had a rough time lately; I was found wandering alone and was quite thin and very matted. A Good Samaritan took me in, gave me a safe place to stay, got me to a groomer to have me trimmed up and got me to a vet for some needed veterinary care.

I have completely healed from Lymes Disease that I had earlier. I am currently on Apoquel as I appear to have skin allergies, but my skin looks great now; I responded very well to the meds. I was neutered and had my tail docked on Dec 5th and I'm all healed. I had my Rabies shot (3 year) and my other shots up to date. I will receive the Trio Simparica Chew (heartworm prevention) on Jan 1st.

I am not at all food aggressive; if my foster mom takes my bowl away while I am eating, I just step back. I will overeat so my food needs to be measured out. I take food and treats very gently from my foster mom's hand. I am crate trained and I know a few commands, and I appear to be a smart boy who can learn much more. I will need a fenced in yard as I do like to explore.

I just want a family of my own to love. If you think I could be your new best friend, please call my foster mom, Barb (269-425-9310), and she can tell you all about what a good boy I am. My adoption fee is $300

***RPSM DOES NOT HAVE THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT BARB AT (269)-425-9310***

Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan's Adoption Policy
RPSM Adoption Process Fill out the online Adoption Application at www.rpsm.org Once RPSM receives your application, we will contact your references, including your veterinarian(s). Please inform them that an RPSM volunteer will be calling them so that we are able to reach them in a timely fashion. An RPSM volunteer will contact you to schedule a 30-60 minute home visit to meet you and your family. (RPSM requires that all members of your household MUST be present for the entirety of the home visit.) The RPSM Board of Directors will then review your application, reference information, and home visit report in order to determine if you and your family are a good fit for the requested dog. An RPSM volunteer will contact you to notify you if you are approved or denied. If your adopted dog is still in the Prison Program, you have the option of receiving weekly reports regarding his/her progress via e-mail. Once your adopted dog is paroled or if your dog is not enrolled in the Prison Program, an RPSM volunteer will schedule a date to meet your dog. If the meeting proceeds smoothly, you will be able to take your new family member home that day, after the adoption paperwork is complete. Enjoy your new life and adventure together! Each adopter receives an adoption kit, which includes all medical paper work, helpful hints on how to help your new pet adjust to his/her new environment, coupons, and if applicable; training commands, signals and a letter from the trainer about your new best friend. **RPSM cannot be 100% certain of a particular breed of any dog on our site, it is the best guess at a predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
