ScottyB's Story

Scotty B has been waiting long enough.....
After being hit by a car in October, Scotty came to us with two broken legs and a long road of surgeries and rehab ahead of him. Thanks to an incredible foster placement with Melissa, RVT, CCRP, CHT-V at Resurge, he was given the time, care, and love he needed to heal.
Scotty is now back with us and ready for the next step: finding his forever home. Below is a slightly shortened version of his foster’s write-up, in her own words:
Thank you for entrusting me with Scotty B’s care these last few months. I truly enjoyed being part of his recovery. I know he’s in good hands now and that this is the next step toward his forever home, but I definitely shed some ugly tears after dropping him off.
Scotty is such a sweet, loving dog. He loves being snuggled and swaddled in blankets at bedtime, and you will absolutely get the side eye if you forget.
That boy LIVES for car rides. I had to change my morning routine and sneak out of the house to avoid a full pitty-party meltdown. He is an excellent backseat driver.
There’s been concern about dog aggression, but I’d consider it dog reactivity. He barks and screams when he sees other dogs, but he’s never been aggressive. He’s not a bad dog—he just makes bad dog decisions. He had supervised playtime with three of my dogs and did great.
His play stamina is short since his front legs are still getting stronger. He shifts weight to his back end when moving fast, and some days one front leg is more uncomfortable than the other. You’ll know when he’s sore because he sits like a weirdo to relieve pressure.
Please take good care of that big goober for me.
Scotty does need someone special—an adopter who understands his condition and is comfortable managing ongoing medications and special care. He is fully mobile, can run around and enjoy life, but he is still a bit stiff and has a silly, endearing walk that comes with his healing journey.
If you’re patient, compassionate, and ready to love a dog who’s worked incredibly hard to get here, Scotty B is ready to meet you.
