Scotch's Story

Scotch is a lovable goofball who will always keep your day bright. He is house trained and good with other dogs big and small. Please keep in mind he is still a pup and still has puppy energy. Scotch will only be adopted with his "brother from another mother" Whisky. Since being fostered in the same home in Essexville, Michigan (Saginaw Bay), the boys have been inseperable and are definately BFFs forever. Scotch loves food specifically: CHEESE (Wisconsin & 2 year old Canadian Cheddar are his absolute faves!!!). He gets the zoomies twice a day - so if your home has a set of crystal decanters on the side table in the living room - you've been warned! Scotch loves using his nose to sniff around and gets very excited when he know's its time for a walk - he's great on a leash which is a huge bonus. Scotchs past is unknown; and is very leery of men; although he has gotten a lot better with this given time and patience. His foster Dad Jeff notes that Scotch is not what he would considered a lap dog; but he loves to snuggle and get belly rubs on his time. Once he asks you for a belly rub, he will never stop looking for that attention and you will be his person for life. The ideal home for Scotch & Whisky would be a person or family with active lifestyle that will ensure they get the daily exercise and stimulation need. Having a pair of Weims isn't necessarily more work - it's more money because it's twice the food, vet visits with shots and HWP etc.. These boys will be a great addition to a home with Weim experience - apply for these brothers today!

Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Adoption Application Request  Interested in adopting? GLWR is committed to giving rescue dogs the best chance at a wonderful life.  To that end, we ask you to know these things: 1.  The application process is not instantaneous.  We are all volunteers and we move things along as quickly as possible.  We need to get to know you through the application process; just like we get to know the dogs through our intake process.  It is in the best interest of all involved that this be done correctly. 2.  We do not hold dogs.  Approved adopters have their choice of appropriate dogs for their situation.  If you see a dog on the website that you would like, we cannot guarantee that that dog will still be available once your application is approved. 3.  Note to Families with children:   Weimaraners are large, energetic dogs who need a ton of daily exercise. They can be great family dogs, but will think nothing of knocking down toddlers to get to the door, or snatch cookies from their hands.
