Scooby Doo's Story

Meet Scooby Doo — the sweet, bright, big-hearted boy who’s been waiting way too long to find his people. Scooby came into rescue care from the Associated Humane Societies – Forked River shelter, where staff and volunteers have been rooting for him every single day. He’s smart, full of energy, and so ready to blossom into the companion he was always meant to be.

Scooby is about 1½ years old, 50 lbs, and a young dog with so much potential. He’s eager to learn, loves praise and connection, and would thrive in a structured home where someone can guide him with consistency and love. His intelligence and trainability shine through — this boy wants to do well and make his people proud.

While Scooby can do well with other dogs, slow introductions and respectful play are key — he’s not suited for homes with cats. He’s energetic and would be happiest in a home with older kids or adults who understand how to channel his enthusiasm into fun activities, training, and enrichment.

Scooby has spent much of his life behind kennel doors instead of in a real home — living with a family, feeling safe on the couch, going for long walks (he also makes a great running buddy), playing in the yard, and soaking up belly rubs and cuddles. He is particularly fond of his 14 yr old foster brother, quickly making a strong bond.

This big boy has so much love to give. He’s affectionate, bright, eager to please, and he deserves a family that sees his potential and gives him the chance to thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your days with smiles, laughs, and unconditional love, Scooby might just be your perfect match.💙

If interested in adopting Scooby Doo, please complete an application, which can be found on our website at www.twentypawsrescue.com/forms-applications.
