Scooby's Story

Scooby is a 1-year-old, 75 lbs, happy, lanky boy and such a lover. He is a German shepherd / Doberman pinscher mix. He loves everyone he meets no matter the size.

In his foster home, he currently lives with a large male (100 lbs) and a dominant female (50 lbs) as his fur siblings. He has a good, submissive play style and takes communication cues from dogs without issue. He LOVES to be around other dogs and lit up the moment he met his foster fur siblings. Scooby has excellent recall and is house trained. He loves toys and has shown no possessive behaviors around toys, food, or treats. He knows when to chill, naps while his foster mom works or plays with the resident dog, and is amazing in the car for rides. He loves pets and any affection and will gently paw at you to keep them coming.

Scooby is also a young dog with plenty of energy and enthusiasm for life. He's very trainable and eager to learn, and he'll thrive with a family ready to continue working with him on structure, manners, and confidence. He's the kind of dog who bonds deeply when given guidance and consistency.

He goes into the kennel without issue. He is a bit restless, but doesn't bark and eventually settles down. He isn't 100% sure about walking near busy roads yet and prefers to potty in a backyard, but he's making progress as he gets more comfortable with city noises.

Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.

STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
