SCHAEFER's Story

Schaefer is a pure-bred German Shepherd who needs a loving home with someone familiar with the breed. He was DNA tested and it was confirmed he is 100% GSD. He is 140 pounds and just a year old, so he is a big boy who needs room to run! His perfect home is somewhere with acreage and a fenced property. He does well with other dogs of all sizes - he has been fostered with dogs ranging from 10 pounds to 80+ pounds. He will require training and structure to mold him into the perfect dog, but he is very smart so we don't think this will be an issue. He is reactive and has loud, powerful barks. Absolutely no shared walls - houses only. He has been at the rescue since he was only 8 weeks old. We want him to finally find a home. We require his new family to have no young children or cats. We require houses fenced yards for all dogs - no exceptions. All cats are adopted as indoor only with no declawing, no exceptions. Outdoor only if cat is specifically a barn cat.

We are a non profit 501c3 dog and cat rescue. We rescue all breeds, including California dogs who are in line for euthanasia and high kill shelters in Texas. Our rescue also takes in owner surrenders.
