Scarlett's Story
Meet Scarlett!

Scarlett is a beautiful Shepherd mix, approximately 5 years old and around 60 pounds. She came to us alongside her sister, Lucy, after their beloved owners suddenly passed away. Their world was turned upside down, but Scarlett has shown nothing but sweetness and resilience as she adjusts to this new chapter.

Scarlett is an adorable, laid-back girl who loves nothing more than cuddling up and relaxing with her people. She warms up quickly and truly just wants to be your best friend. She knows basic commands, has lovely manners, and does not jump. She walks well on a leash and enjoys spending time by your side.

Scarlett and Lucy share a very special bond, and our hope is to see them adopted together—they really are all each other has. We understand that may not always be possible, but they have been adjusting well in foster care. Scarlett has done wonderfully in two different multi-dog settings with dogs of all sizes. In fact, at a sitter’s home, her best buddy was a tiny Chihuahua (her little “boyfriend”!).

We’re unsure how Scarlett is with cats, as she hasn’t been around them to our knowledge, so slow introductions would be necessary. While we don’t have direct experience with children, she loves everyone she meets. Due to her size, a home with older children (around 9+) would likely be best.

A secure, fenced yard is required so Scarlett can safely run and play. We’re told she can be a bit of an “opportunist” if a gate is left open. She doesn’t bolt out doors, but if given the chance—such as slipping a collar or harness on a tie-out—she may decide to go exploring.

Scarlett is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

Adoption fee: $250
$350 for both Scarlett and Lucy if adopted together

If you’re interested in fostering or fostering-to-adopt Scarlett (or the pair!), please fill out an application at http://www.bestbuddypetrescue.com
