Saydie's Story

Meet this sweet, sunshine loving girl

Sadie may be a little shy at first, but give her about five minutes and you'll see her true personality shine. Once she warms up, she becomes incredibly affectionate, will follow you from room to room, happily hopping into your lap, and showering you with kisses. At night, her favorite place is curled up in the crook of your arm, soaking up all the comfort and closeness she can get.

She came to us from a shelter in rough condition, with severe matting that had to be shaved out, leaving her with some sensitive skin as she heals. Despite her past, she has shown nothing but resilience and a gentle, loving spirit.

Her absolute favorite thing in the world is being outside in the sun. Sadie would happily spend all day sunbathing or perched by a window like a little cat, just watching the world go by.

She has done wonderfully well with the toddler in her foster home and is absolutely fine with resident cats. She would likely do best as the only dog or with a very calm canine companion, as she is still learning to feel comfortable around other dogs and can be a bit selective (she is still learning to coexist with the other dog in her foster home).

She is partially house-trained. She does well with peeing outside but is still learning when it comes to pooping outdoors. She will benefit from continued consistency and basic training in her forever home.

She forms strong bonds with her people and can be a bit protective/territorial of them, so she would do best with a family who understands her need for security and can continue building her confidence in a positive, structured way.
