Sawyer's Story

Sawyer is a “Pocket Bully” born in September 2018, with a cleft lip, cleft palate, and spina bifida. He is currently eating and drinking safely on his own and we don’t believe his cleft lip/palate will require any surgical intervention.

Sawyer will always need a little extra supervision to make sure he doesn’t eat anything dangerous for him, and will never be able to safely eat wet or goopy foods like canned food, peanut butter, yogurt, or any other liquids other than water. But otherwise he is expected to live a long, healthy life.

The spina bifida causes Sawyer to be incontinent and to have some weakness in his back legs. He can walk and get around very well, but he will be in diapers for the rest of his life. He is a very happy, spunky pup and is friendly with humans and other dogs. He needs a committed home willing to give him the extra care he needs to thrive.

Sawyer has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is also micro chipped.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application at www.uaaf.org. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please email Jenn at jennc@mac.com or text at 801-554-9501.
