Sassy's Story

Her dreams and hopes shattered, she waits and waits and waits for that “forever” home that seems to evade her grasp at every turn.

10 month old Sassy, the result of irresponsible “backyard” breeding, was sold to a mindless man as an entertainment piece for his dysfunctional family of four unruly kids.

Sassy lost her puppyhood of romps in the park sniffing the ground and digging holes in the grass. We found her tied to the radiator. Sassy was seldom walked outside. She was fed haphazardly and drank out of a slimy filthy bowl. The kids would do tug-of-war with a broomstick, belt or rope to amuse Sassy. She was beaten as a means of training her to obey. This poor little dog whined and barked incessantly until the noise made the NYCHA administration send the family a notice to vacate the apartment in the Projects. Then Sassy was surrendered to us. Having had bad luck in a few foster homes, Sassy now boards in a “high end” kennel on the Upper West Side.

Sassy is a young vibrant loving loyal sensitive dog with appealing eyes. She is spayed and fully vet checked. She loves to play with other dogs in the dog run. She has had minimal experience
with cats. She is a bit skittish with strangers, pulls on a leash and stops to smell everything outside, catching up for lost “sniffing time”. Sassy is housebroken.

Sassy would make an ideal companion for a dog savvy, firm but kind person who loves the outdoors. She would be a great second pet or a wonderful companion to a slow jogger. Call to set up an appointment to meet Sassy. You can consider foster care or outright adoption
of this wonderful healthy young dog who longs to become part of a loving family. THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING.
