Sasha Shar-Pei Manteca, CA

Sasha is a beautiful female shar-pei inside and is ready for her new home - spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. At her recent spay surgery, Sasha was estimated to be around 7 years old. However, she looks and acts much younger. And her eyes look great! Sasha is very intelligent, energetic and enjoys a lot of activity. Sasha is fond of hard chew treats, doggie peanut butter on a lick pad, car rides and is a sweetheart with nose nuzzles and lots of tail wags. Her leash manners are pretty good, but she gets most of her exercise patrolling the yard perimeter and being a side kick to her foster's yard work and other misc outdoor todo's. Did I mention she loves her yard and being outdoors? She is not fond of the squirrels that taunt her with their chatter, but she really enjoys watching the hummingbirds zip around their feeders and all the other birds that frequent the yard. Sasha's fosters have had her around several different dog professionals (vet tech, dog trainer and dog sitter) to help with her foster experience and establish the best transition to her forever home. The following insights and recommendations from their visits and consultations are as follows: -Sasha appears to be well trained and knows numerous cues and commands such as "Sit", "Come", "Stay", "Heel", and most likely other commands still uncovered. -Sasha would do great with a single, couple or family home but it is recommend a home without super young kids. Sasha has reacted well with one of our experts' school age child (age 7). Sasha is especially fond of men and appears to have had a strong male role model, but she is really good with everyone she meets. - Sasha was fine when tested with other dogs (big and small), but a calm and gradual introduction provides the best outcome. - Sasha is very energetic and intelligent, so she does best when her day is active (walks, human or dog play). - Sasha responds extremely well to boundaries and can easily be redirected from unwanted behavior with commands and other training techniques. Sasha's fosters think she is such a pleasure and provided these notes: - Sasha is good with strangers in the home and has great manners with dinner guests (no begging, sitting/laying quietly nearby) - Sasha is typical shar-pei, following you around and being youe constant companion and side kick. - Sasha is totally house and doggie door trained. - Sasha loves having a daily routine but is super flexible, if needed. - Sasha is very sweet and loving and does enjoy giving and getting affection, including Eskimo (nose) kisses and snuggles. Sasha is fostering in Northern California (Napa area), but don't let geography be the reason you lose out on this beautiful Pei - she is worth it! The fosters may be willing to meet partway for the right home.
