Hi my name is Sasha and I am a 2 year old female! I am believed to be some sort of shepherd, terrier mix, but it’s hard to know for sure!

I had a rough start in life. I was found in the woods injured and malnourished, with all of my deceased babies. Understandably so, I was terrified of everyone and everything. I was then taken to an animal shelter, where I was at risk of being euthanized. A shelter was no place for a scared dog like me. Luckily, someone stepped up to get me out of the shelter environment and put me into a foster home. That foster ended up not being able to help me come out of my shell, so another kind lady volunteered to take me. I have been with her for a few months now and am doing incredible.

After being with people I can trust and am comfortable with for some time, I have flourished into the most amazing dog. I am very well behaved. My foster mom is working on crate-training me. I am already housebroken. I don’t chew on anything and am not destructive. I will jump on the couch with you, but am still learning how to snuggle. I am super playful and love to run around. I already know to sit and leave it. I walk well on a leash.

I would prefer to go to a home that has another dog. When I’m around other dogs, all of my anxieties go away. I think any animal is my friend. I do well with cats and even chickens! I love to go to the dog park and play with all my friends there. I would prefer to go to a home with older children who would understand my situation and be patient and gentle with me.

While I am still learning that humans aren’t going to hurt me, I make great improvements every day. I have never been shown love, so everything is a learning experience. My foster mom says that being able to watch me grow and become a happy, loving dog has been so rewarding.
