Sara Lee's Story

Now it's time for one of our best success stories! Sara Lee is a resilient hound mix who faced serious health challenges after caring for her 12 puppies in December 2023. You have most likely seen other posts about her struggles over the course of 2024.

Sara was fostered thankfully, while she needed to be cared for medically, but she has made a complete recovery. Now she is back at WAG and doing wonderfully! Sara Lee is now in perfect health and has turned out to be an absolutely beautiful girl with a wonderful temperament.

She is almost 5 years old and now 80 pounds approximately. Sara is very food motivated and responsive to training. Because of her lack of early training, she needs pet parents that will be consistent with the training we have ongoing. With a strong and consistent dog handler, Sara Lee is wonderful on a leash and really enjoys her walks. She also loves to exercise by running...So, if you want a running partner, Sara Lee is your girl! She LOVES to run with the golf cart at WAG!

Sara Lee has worked very hard with our trainers and volunteers to become the great dog she has become. Sara has been able to successfully go on doggie day field trips which have revealed her fantastic personality. She may be a great playmate for your current dog but will need to do a meet and greet as we do with all our potential adopters. She is a high energy player, so will need a fur buddy that likes to play hard like her and match her play style. We will try this out in the doggie meet and greet portion of our process; to be sure the adoption will be a success!

Sara Lee has been with us almost 2 years and she deserves her turn at a Happy Tails Ending. She deserves nothing less than the most perfect home where she will be doted on. She's a sweet, affectionate girl who loves human attention. She just wants to be loved and give it in return.

Will you open up your heart and your home for this hound dog?

If you're interested in meeting Sara Lee, please complete an adoption application so we may learn more about you at willistonanimalgroup.org/adopt and reach out to us via Facebook, IM or call 352-528-9888.
