I landed in the county shelter with my 6 pups when they were just tiny nursing babies. I'm so thankful Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue took us out of that scary situation and provided the medical and general care we all desperately needed to get ready for our forever homes! All of my babies found their forever homes sometime ago and now it's my turn to find my happily ever after. I am a terrier mix and weigh approx 55-60lbs and I love to go on walks and play! The staff and volunteers lovingly call me a baby hippo! I can be dog selective and get a little excited around cats, so would prefer to be an only pet. I have a happy, energetic personality and love my special times with the volunteers! I walk pretty good on leash (a little excited at first) and even know how to sit and take treats gently! My $250 adoption fee, which is now zero as it is fully sponsored, include all my vetting, up to date vaccines, microchip, deworming, heartworm test (negative) and spay have already done, and I am VERY ready for my forever home. 1) Submit application 2) Application is reviewed for completeness and assigned to an adoption coordinator 3) Adoption coordinator verifies critical information on the application, contacts references and ensures that the requested animal is a good fit for the family 4) Adoption coordinator, in conjunction with rescue management, approves or denies application 5) Upon notification of approval, an adoption coordinator works with foster and adopter to set up an adoption appointment to bring your new family member home! We strive to work through adoption applications as soon as we can. We are 100% volunteer-based so it can take a day or two to complete the review. This also depends on the response time of your references. Should you change your mind or adopt a different animal after submission, please inform us so we do not spend unnecessary time on your application.
