Samson (F26-79)'s Story
Samson is a three-year-old, 16-pound Poodle with a gentle nature who is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. He can be unsure around strangers and new situations at first, but he truly thrives when he is around other dogs.

Samson may need a little time to build trust with new people, but in a quiet home that will go at his pace and offer patience and understanding, he will do just fine. Once he feels comfortable, his personality really begins to shine.

His favorite thing in the entire world is playing with other dogs. Samson is very playful with his canine friends and clearly gains confidence from their presence.

That said, Samson can go to a home without another dog. In this type of home, it may take him a bit longer to adjust and feel secure, but with the right people-those who are patient, gentle, and willing to build trust at his pace-he can form a strong and loving bond.

A meet and greet with any dogs in the home will be required to ensure everyone is a good fit.

We have recently begun leash training with Samson, and he will need continued support and consistency in his new home to help him grow more confident and comfortable on walks.

With the right environment and encouragement, Samson has the potential to blossom into a wonderful and devoted companion.
------
Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
