Samson's Story

IDGSR WELCOMES SAMSON INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!

Here is what Samson's Foster mom has to say about this sweet kid.

Here are some of the things I can tell you right off the bat about this guy: he is super sweet, he loves affection, and he's very gentle/tolerant; we have a two year old that is often noisy, but it never bothers him and he has never acted aggressive towards him -- or anyone else -- at all. He does need to learn some table manners; he's very nosy about food and has stolen things from our son on occasion, but he is very receptive to correction.

I had mentioned to Carol that he had more interest in our cats than we had previously expected; he has already gotten so much better with them. He seems to want to play with them, but he is starting to catch on that chasing them is inappropriate. He learns very fast.

He will need lots of chew toys; he definitely likes to chew on things. I'm not sure how much interaction, or what kind, he had with people before; he doesn't seem to know how to play with us. In particular, he seems very timid with me, but he adores my husband and whines for him when he leaves the house.

2nd Samson Video Link: https://youtu.be/erkkSTo5PNI

He's very comfortable in a crate. Bc of the chewing and the cats, we keep him crated at night and on the rare occasions when we are both out of the house, but the crate is always accessible to him, and he spends a lot of time in there on his own. We are working hard on socializing him more and trying to get him more comfortable around the house; I honestly don't think he's spent much time inside until now. Although he has started getting to where he plays some outside, he very rarely runs around the house or tries to initiate any of us to play with him.

If you would like to apply to adopt Samson, please copy and paste the link below and apply with this rescue
http://members.petfinder.org/~TN668/adopt_app.html
Each dog's adoption fee varies depending on the age of the dog.
$300 for any dog 1 year and younger (PUPPY)
$250 for any dog 1-3 years (YOUNG & ADULT)
$200 for any dog 7 years (ADULT SENIOR)

All our adoptable dogs are up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing, monthly preventative, and have been spayed or neutered.

Everyone must submit an application before an appointment is made to meet the dogs. Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

All dogs are fostered in TN unless stated otherwise.

***Not able to adopt? Consider FOSTERING one of our four-legged friends***
Donations to help us care for all the dogs in our program are also greatly appreciated and may be made from our main petfinder page: http://IDGSR.petfinder.com
