Meet Sampson-I2041
December 23, 2020 update. Sampson is healed, healthy and ready for his Furever family. He will be okay with another female dog that likes to play but he is an alpha dog. He would be fine as an only dog too. Sampson is fine with children that are 12 years or older and a family withn German Shepherd experience,
November 2020 Heartworm treatment is complete. Sampson is ready for adoption.
Sampson comes to rescue from KY as an owner surrender. They knew he was heartworm positive the year before he was surrendered but chose to not treat him because of the expense. His previous owners did not have him but 6 months when they decided they did not want him. His life changed when we were contacted to take him in. We said YES to this beautiful German Shepherd.
9.25.20 Sampson had his first heartworm injection on 9.14.20. He is doing great. Keeping him entertained and quiet is a bit of a challenge and he is crated the majority of the time. He gets a small amount of time outside by himself so that he stays calm and relaxed. He gets lots of chew toys, bones or other things to keep him entertained during this time.
7.25.20 Sampson was transported to MN via Pilots N Paws. He is in a foster home where he will get his `1st injection on 9.14.20 for the heartworm treatment. He must remain quiet while the heartworms are being killed and passing through his body. His next 2 injections will be on 10.14.20 and 10.15.20. for another 60 days after these 2 injections he must remain quiet and be walked on leash, no playing, no running, no activity or he could go into cardiac arrest. We want him to get through his treatment and move on to a FUREVER home.
For the next 90 days he needs a home that is very quiet with no activity to get through the treatment. His DOB is June 11, 2016 and his Adoption fee is $250.00.
Because of his size and energy level we are recommending children that are at least 12 years of age.
We do not allow our dogs to be tied, tethered, chained, live outside or be confined in an underground fence system. If you are serious about adoption please go to the website and complete an application at www.faerielandrescue.org.
