Sampson's Story
Meet Sampson!
Sampson is a young hound mix with a big personality! Dont let his outgoing nature fool you—hes a total softie at heart.

Sampson was found as a stray before spending two months at the shelter, so hes still learning what life as a beloved house dog is all about. Hes been with his foster for over a month and is making great progress. Hes taken really well to training and hell need consistent reinforcement as he continues to learn.

Sampson does well in the crate, after some initial whimpers he settles in and can relax for hours. He also loves his snuggles and, after a busy day of puppy adventures, is perfectly happy to wind down and cuddle with his people.

Sampson is currently doing great as a solo dog. He loves other dogs but has a very enthusiastic play style. He would do well with a dog who is willing to put him in his place when he needs it and show his the ropes of being a good boy.

New situations are VERY exciting for Sampson! He can be calm and well-mannered at home, but new people and environments can be very stimulating. He has done well on quiet outings without too many people or other dogs around. He tends to jump, get overly excited, and forget just how big he is, these are all things that can be worked on but will take time. He does well on daily walks, he is pretty good at loose leash walking but will try to chase birds or squirrels when he sees them.

Because of his energy level and exuberant play style, we are not recommending Sampson for a home with small children.

Sampson is looking for an active, patient home where he can continue to build his manners and confidence. In return, youll get a goofy, loving pup who is eager to learn and has so much potential to be an amazing companion.

If youre looking for a fun, energetic young dog with a whole lot of love to give, Sampson is ready to meet you!

---
To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html
