When Sammy J. first arrived at the Ranch, he was unsure and guarded — pacing the yard’s perimeter for nearly an hour, keeping his distance, and not yet ready to trust.<br/><br/>But something magical happened once we gently guided him inside. He explored cautiously at first, then found himself next to one of our volunteers, quietly accepting the comfort of soft pets and scritches. And before long, Sammy J. stumbled upon a dog bed — not because he was looking for it, but because it stood between him and more affection. With a sigh of surrender, Sammy settled down on that bed … and didn’t want to leave.<br/><br/>Sammy J. is a sweet, tired soul who just wants a safe place to rest his head, good company, and gentle love.
