So Sammie, who is a boy, was left by his owner with someone who actually threatened to shoot him if he wasn't "gone by the end of the day." Thankfully a good samaritan stepped in. <br/>Sammie unfortunately came to us with an unwelcomed guest: heartworms. He has completed all the treatment and we have no reason to believe he won't live out a perfectly normal life. BUT, he will need to be tested for heartworms again in March 2027 as long as he consistently gets the preventative he's currently receiving.<br/>In addition to being treated for heartworms, Sammie has been neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations. He is a sweet boy but requires an active household. Sammie is not happy being a couch potato and can be very vocal about it.<br/>Sammie has done fine with his foster brother.
